Who We Are

BlastChamber.net is a small web design and hosting studio based in Rockford, Illinois. We build custom websites and provide optional monthly hosting and maintenance. The name "BlastChamber" refers to the creative process of shaping a rough idea into a finished site — it is a metaphor, not a reference to anything dangerous.

What We Collect

We collect the minimum information needed to do business with you. Specifically:

• Contact form submissions: Your name, email, business name (optional), domain name (if you are an existing hosting client), and the message you write. These go to our email inbox via Formspree, our form-handling provider.
• For hosting clients: Billing details (processed by our payment processor — we do not store your full card number on our servers), domain registration information, and technical information needed to keep your site online (DNS records, server logs).
• Server logs: Standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, response code) kept for up to 30 days for security and debugging.

We do not collect: social security numbers, government IDs, biometric data, or any category of personal information we do not need to provide the service you signed up for.

How We Use It

• To respond to your inquiry or deliver the service you requested.
• To send you essential service messages (invoices, maintenance windows, security alerts).
• To maintain and secure our infrastructure.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services We Use

To run our business, we rely on a small number of vetted providers. They receive only the data needed to perform their function:

• Formspree — handles contact form submissions (form data only).
• Cloudflare — CDN, DNS, and DDoS protection. Their servers see all traffic to our site; their privacy policy applies to that traffic.
• Payment processors (PayPal, Venmo, Stripe or similar) — handle billing. We never store your full card number.
• Email provider — for business email (Outlook / Microsoft 365).

Cookies and Analytics

This site does not use third-party analytics, advertising cookies, or tracking pixels. We do not embed Facebook, Google Ads, or any other marketing tracker. The only cookies set are those required for the site to function (such as a session cookie if you sign in to a client portal — currently not in use) and Cloudflare's own security cookies.

Data Retention

• Contact form inquiries: kept in our email until the conversation is closed, then archived or deleted within 12 months.
• Hosting client records: kept for the duration of the service plus 7 years (standard for tax and legal compliance).
• Server logs: rotated every 30 days.

Your Rights

You can ask us at any time to:

• Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
• Correct anything that is wrong.
• Delete your information, subject to the retention rules above.

Children's Privacy

Our services are intended for adults running businesses, organizations, or personal projects. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to This Policy

If we make a material change, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes (such as adding a new category of data collection), we will notify active clients by email.
